You will find me to be immensely empathetic and compassionate and will do all I can to alleviate any worries you and your family members may have, by sensitively listening to your wishes.

My passion is to help you prepare a bespoke and beautiful service of goodbye for your loved one.

Working together, I will help you to create and conduct the perfect ceremony, tailored to your beliefs, values, and desires for your loved one.

As a Funeral Celebrant, I write and conduct personalised ceremonies with care and respect, that honour and celebrate a person's life lived. Before the service, I will work with you to create a bespoke and meaningful ceremony.

I am a professional accredited Funeral Celebrant and follow the AOIC core values for best practice to ensure all my services conform to the highest standards. I am also covered by public liability and professional indemnity insurance.

Finding the right celebrant is important, so please feel free to get in touch to ask any questions you may have.

About Kathryn

I worked with primary school children with Autism and Additional Educational Needs, in Bolton, Lancashire, for 20 years.  Then a few years ago, my husband and I felt the time was right to re-locate to our dream location in Bowness on Windermere, Cumbria.

Working within education had been truly vocational and I believe the care, empathy, patience and devotion, along with my teaching skills, has led me to becoming a funeral celebrant.  I am just as passionate about my endeavours to listen and help my client’s create a bespoke funeral ceremony which best serves their family and the person who has died.

I am the classic outdoors person, taking full advantage of all that the Lakes has to offer, namely sailing, cycling, running, walking and generally soaking up this stunning countryside. I find I don’t even mind the weather, just as long as I am here and nowhere else!

I’m also an artist, painting the Cartmel Fells with a theme called “Hilltops and Hedgerows” and in the summer season I occasionally give ‘art experience workshops’ for visitors from my studio. Click here to visit my art portfolio.

Being part of my husband’s “South Lakes Acappella Choir”, which has meant we have wholly invested in our community and have quickly become ensconced in this wonderful area and village life of Windermere.

I am an experienced and qualified celebrant holding NOCN Level 3 Certificate with Civil Ceremonies UK.  I also registered with them and follow their exacting and high standards through their ‘Code of Practice.

Further, I am also registered with the Association of Independent Celebrants, AOIC.  This enables me to be a member of the Society of Allied Independent Funeral Directors, Independent Funeral Directors, the National Association of Funeral Directors.
